VibeEngine: the browser my agents use, one profile per job
1 / 1VibeEngine: the browser my agents use, one profile per job

What it does

My agents used to browse inside Clear, in “agent windows”. Heavy agent sessions took Clear down with them, so on 26 October they got a browser of their own. VibeEngine runs in the background on the Mac mini and never comes in front of me unless I open it.

How it works

Each agent profile has its own cookies and its own window. The rules live in the app, not the prompt: a profile only acts while it’s logged in to its own account, and there are things no agent can do from inside it at all.

The limits carried over from Clear’s agent windows: agents never log in, never type passwords, never pay, and each one is locked to one account. Putting those limits in the browser instead of in the instructions is the whole point. A prompt can be talked out of a rule. A button that doesn’t exist can’t be pressed.

Why a separate app

Clear is my browser. When an agent spent an hour inside it, a crash in the agent’s session was a crash in mine. Splitting them made both better: Clear went back to being light, and the agents got a browser that’s allowed to be heavy, sits on the Mac mini, and stays out of my way.

It’s part of Vibe, the team of agents it was built for.

Agent windows in Clear

Agents browse in windows of their own, with a glowing edge I can take over.

The first version lived inside Clear: an agent from my Vibe team could browse in a window of its own profile, with its own pointer and a glowing edge. I could take over, hand back or stop it.

VibeEngine 0.1

Its own app, with the old profiles and logins moved across from Clear.

Heavy agent sessions took Clear down with them, so the agents got a browser of their own. It runs in the background on the Mac mini, and the profiles and logins they already had in Clear moved across.
